Hi Kimberly, I basically used the instructions from ReadyMade.com (http://www.readymade.com/projects/bed_head_clean_up_your_act_with_a_custom_headboard/next_step#steps). The materials and instructions are all right there, the only difference is that I measured the legs of my headboard to match the pre-existing mounting holes on my bed frame and then bolted it directly to the frame.

Love the headboard you made, which is EXACTLY what my daughter would like for her room. I’m not super crafty, but from a financial standpoint, thought we may try to make one. Can you perhaps provide some guidance of how and where we would go about starting to attempt this project ourselves?
