I must say, this is an impressive music video! I’m a sucker for Rube Goldberg machines. I made one once in a summer camp. There was a neat Honda Goldberg commercial video a couple years ago.

“New” camera
I meant to mention this forever ago, but I am now the proud owner of a Mamiya C33 TLR camera (christmas gift from Mike). I’ll be taking some photos with it soon just need to get past my big exam tomorrow. I’ve wanted a TLR for a long time (well, a functional one at least, the Brownie at the top of the page has been mine for six or seven years now) but I only found out recently that a local camera shop develops 120 film.
High-tech adventures
I’m posting this using my brand spanking new iPhone. My mom and I are equally geeking out, which is super awesome. Brenda and Moo are thoroughy enjoying my parents’ house, there’s just so much more space than the condo. They’ve also taken to suntanning under the incadecsent bulb (must be novel compared to all the compact fluorescent at my place)

This week is upper limb week in school. As part of my homework, I had to teach the arteries and veins of the upper limb (arm and hand) to the rest of the group. One of the girls starting doing nice fill-in-the-blanks type questions and it works so well. So I decided that why ruin a good thing? Of course I spent more time drawing the picture and making it pretty than actually studying the vessels, but at least I was looking at them. Right? Right?

Just can’t resist some good french television
Since I’ve had a “bachelor weekend” (or a hot weekend with the kitten), I was watching some french television last night and happened across a fun version of the ever ubiquitous Pachebel’s Canon.
I think the funniest part is that I was watching it and thinking, “Is that the Moulin Rouge?” I was there for a show two years ago, but then I told myself it’s silly to assume that of all the potential venues in the world, just because it was french it would be there. Turns out it was there. Maybe all french concerts do take place at the Moulin Rouge.
Scientific illustration stuff
I suppose apart from the large amounts of stress, I’ve also been managing to squeeze in a couple other things like helping out a friend with a couple scientific illustrations for a paper of hers. This is just a small part of the total images. Maybe I’ll post the other parts later.
Long Hiatus
Sorry for the long hiatus. Mike and I have been going through some life difficulties lately, and the blog just didn’t make it into the to-do list for a while. Things are hopefully on the upswing though.
I actually saw this gadget last week on Gizmodo, but I didn’t have a chance to post it. It’s the Bandai Goyza Maker. Appropriately enough, we made dumplings yesterday. Of course, we are super hardcore and not only do we not have a fancy machine to fold them for us, we also make our own wrappers. Also, we make jiao zi, not gyoza (I don’t think there’s really much of a difference, except that “jiao zi” is the Chinese word and “goyza” is the Japanese word)
On a lighter note
This video is pretty awesome. What joys I have to look forward too.
